Simplified Fares for Paratransit Routes

The Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) hereby gives notice of a fare change effective on October 1, 2007. This fare change applies only to the CARTS curb-to-curb/general public paratransit service, also known as dial-a-ride. Persons with disabilities, persons over age 60, and children age 12 and under are eligible for half-fare, subject to eligibility determination and customer registration with CARTS.

Williamson County Public Transportation Planning Study, Final Report

The Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS), Williamson County, and participating municipal jurisdictions in Williamson and Travis Counties initiated a study of the feasibility of improving transit services. This study focuses on all of Williamson County except Round Rock and Leander, but includes the City of Pflugerville in Travis County (Figure 1). The City of Leander receives transit services, since it is a member of the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Capital Metro). The City of Round Rock is independently studying transit alternatives for implementation.

Deadline Extended for Georgetown Intermodal A&E Proposals

Important notice to all proposers of A&E services for the project: The deadline for submittals of qualifications for the CARTS Georgetown Intermodal RFQ is extended due to the recent weather event.

The new deadline for submittal is 2:00pm, January 24, 2007.

Solar-Powered Flag Stops to Improve Regional Access

Plans are afoot to afford CARTS customers improved regional access with predictable city-to-city travel that incorporates CARTS-designed ITS flag-stop facilities in between towns, and in small towns at which an intermodal facility is not yet built or not warranted.

Blanco County Service Improvements, effective Oct. 1st 2006

Starting October 1, 2006, CARTS has modified some bus routes to increase service availability for residents of Blanco County.

Round Rock Expands Transit Service with CARTS

The City of Round Rock is offering expanded transit services beginning Monday, April 3, 2006, through it's contract with the Capital Area Rural Transit System.
